Sad2laugh

"That movie made me some the cheese"

submission: Sad2laugh
date: July 18, 2006

Sad2Laugh is the delightful tale of a dancing grey kitty who doesnt really like candy all that much, but doesn't dislike it enough to refrain from dancing on it. However, true to animutational standards, the film doesn't stick to a single plot line for very long, but changes constantly between sub-plots which weave together to make the perfect movie to watch while attempting to guess which college i'm not in.

Author's Response:

I actually went to one of thoes colleges... ;)

When Robots Attack

"Interesting style"

submission: When Robots Attack
date: January 3, 2006

When robots attack is a non animutation collaboration of two animutators, andrew kepple and neil cicierega. set to the music of neil's "when robots attack" this movie is a single long scene that slowly rolls by with repetitive motions throughout, vaguely reminiscent of an asembly line.

Author's Response:

Not just vaguely reminiscent of an assembly line, but it actually contains an assembly line too!

Beer Pong (fanimutation)

"Teh dark side of animutation"

date: December 29, 2005

While Beer Pong may not be the absolute first animutation ever to use death metal music for a sound track, it marks the first successful use of death metal in an animutation EVER. Note the principles of using foreign music in an animutation: 1. must be badly translated into english; and 2. that translation must hilariously not make any sense. Beer pong does both of these very well. However, Beer Pong breaks with the established lighthearted whimsical nature of most animutations, its mistranslated lyrics communicate a darker, more sinister side of animutations that many cannot fully understand.

Author's Response:

Thanks, I like the tone of your review. I imagine it being read in a deep movie preview narrator voice. I think Neil's "Slipknot" is more deserving of that title, even though the song is a little too Ska. Beer Pong is packed with more in-jokes than you can shake a tuber at, so I never really expected everybody to understand it, just to be scared and confused by it.

Can-O-Swedes

"pak chooie unf"

submission: Can-O-Swedes
date: December 25, 2005

Can o' Swedes is almost an exact remake of star wars episode 3, minus spaceships, fighting, a plot, wookies, and almost everything else star wars, and the void is filled with drunken swedes singing that song from titanic and playing accordions. That said, Can o' swedes is a well done star wars episode 3 remake, with er, wait, can o swedes doesnt have anything at all to do with star wars, its a lovely animutation by world figure skatinginsocksonasmoothwoodenfloor champion andrew kepple. watch it or be doomed to a lifetime of being thought of as "uncultured"

Author's Response:

In my opinion, SW3 was nothing but a flimsy rope-bridge hanging tenuously between the solid rock of SW3 and the rickety, dead tree of SW2. Satisfying to see that SW2 and SW4 were connected after so long, but jeez, you wouldn't wanna try and actually use that crappy bridge for anything reliable. So all in all, it was good to see your review for this, since C-o-S was my first Flash movie that is considered an animutation.

Gone With the Wind 1979

"have a trophy"

date: December 12, 2005

i was going to write a review of this that was going to describe this animutation in great detail, but thats not possible. instead i'll just say it was awesome and give you a prize. you win.....one of those foam insulation things that you put a drink can in to keep it somewhat cold. one with "cancun" written on it. or a picture of a surfboard. or maybe the letters of a talk radio station. i dont know.

Author's Response:

Thank you animucritic. But who are you? I demand to know your true idenity! :O

...er... ok. this is a classical style animutation, with the exception of colin mochrie's absence. however, the animation is much smoother, resulting in 45% less motion sickness than most animutations. also, note that 62.3972% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Author's Response:

If you look closely Colin IS in the cartoon.

I stuck him in amongst the children laughing at the cliffjumper during the credits!

Happy Cosmos!

"viewing fun without the whole family"

submission: Happy Cosmos!
date: June 26, 2005

Happy cosmos is the award winning documentary about spacetime and the continuum therof. there is a surprising amount of information contained in the brief (5 hour) lecture, which mostly consists of anchient black and white photos with sound feed directly from a college particle physics class. also included is a brief music video, in color of the heisenburgersiengraadovitch uncertainty principle, which is the theory that in an animutaional film, the viewer should not be certain as to what will happen next, and also that the viewer should not be certain of what is happening or what just happened a moment ago. also, the viewer should be informed that these reviews may or may not be helpful , thus illustrating albie grabbinyabuttok's theory of reviews. watch the movie.

I couldn't have put it better myself!

Sting of the Stingray

"holy crap its 1950s style animutation"

date: May 28, 2005

like i said, holy crap its 1950s style animutation. "Stingray" is not only different from the others in that it has big band ENGLISH music, it uses characters never before seen in this genre. Chauncey does very well in multiple roles.

Author's Response:

People always think Sting of the Stingray is retro, but as for the decade being revived I've heard everything from the 50's to the 80's. People know that fractals and bright colors are out of fasion, but not for how long. Perhaps colorful things are easily remembered, and the beige things we see every day will all be forgotten.

Viva La Animutation v2

"A grown up animutation. kinda"

date: May 28, 2005

Well, this one has a lot of sexual inuendos(in you windows?) other than not being a cutesy G rated film, its a pretty decent animutation.

Author's Response:

That's a pretty good mark from an Animutation critic ^________^

"hubba hubba zoot suit"

date: March 31, 2005

colin mochrie[colin mochrie] and zippy[zippy] join the allied fight to free vietmnam from charlie [bunch of viet cong figures]. before going, they recieve words of wisdom from a talking drill sergeant doll [drill sergeant doll], but it is not enough to save poor zippy from being explosured. a distraight colin deserts to canada using the master transport booth and gets a new hippie mentor[plastic Jesus figure]. newcomer carlton plays the sun almost as well as colin did in hyakoyygu-whats-its-face. this film is a joy for the whole family to watch over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Author's Response:

Real world misspellings of Hyakugojyuuichi:
hyakoyygu-whats-its-face
Hagoguarangi
Hakugojuuichi
Hyajewitchy
